Dr. Kassel is a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, who has been in practice for 20 years.
He specializes in sports injuries, arthroscopic shoulder, knee and ankle surgery and total joint replacement.
He completed his training in the United States before embarking on an 18 month fellowship in Sports Medicine in Perth, Western Australia. He has been in New Zealand for 14 years, returning with his New Zealand born wife Nikki and son Ben in 2006 to enjoy the lifestyle and be closer to family.
I trained in the USA and met my New Zealand born wife at the University of Arkansas where she was working as a paediatric flight nurse at Children’s Hospital. After completing my surgical residency I did an 18 month fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy in Perth, Western Australia, focusing on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle. After obtaining my Board Certification in the States and the birth of our son we moved back to New Zealand to be near family in 2006.
